What would you be thinking coming into Rd 2 with high stakes on the table after Deane took top of the podium in Rd 1? Well, the Pro 1 field of cars were here to rock the pavement and put the pressure hard into doors. With Orlando Speed World giving one wild bank to ride, the hesitations to tap wall here were nonexistent! We always love this track’s ability to let the fans get up close and personal in turn one. The shake down runs in practice Friday morning showed that everyone was on their A-game. To no surprise, qualifying went just as smooth. But competition is when things got hot and heavy. Formula DRIFT Round 1: Streets of Long Beach 7 years dormant from the series, James Deane returns and takes the podium. The Streets of Long Beach brought out the big burners through turns 9-11 once again. With it’s 14th season kicking off in the traditional, beautiful weather of Southern California, the stakes were driven deep in taking the first round of Formula DRIFT. So I want to thank the boys in blue for finding this feature for me… LOL. Enjoy! INTERIOR Hyper White LED all...

Words by Leo Diaz Photos by Henry Z. De Kuyper, Super Street I have to say that this car really is one of a kind. I met Gabe early this year. He was more than willing to help with State of Stance and within no time was part of our staff. Getting to know him is part of appreciating his car. A graduate of the University of Miami’s engineering program (all about the U!), he has accepted a job as a Design Engineer for Honda Motor Co. in Ohio. Because of this move he has to say goodbye to his beloved purple people eater to get his career started. I will say though, that he did give me a sneak-peek at his next build and believe you me, it will...
