Formula D: Round 3 at PBIR – Day 1
We have all been looking forward to this event for some time now and it feels like it came and went so quickly. First time Formula D comes to Florida? This is a huge deal to us! I even went out and bought a new MacBook Pro so that I could get the event pictures out to you guys sooner, but unfortunately Formula D did not have WiFi readily available (they were using the bandwidth for the live stream) and to top it off my friends house that I was staying at for the weekend did not have WiFi either.
I had quite a bit of bad luck through the weekend with my car breaking down after Friday’s event (If you were driving on Beeline and PGA Friday night you probably saw us on the side of the road). Thanks to rides and roadside assistance calls from friends the car made it back to the dealership and was fixed under warranty yesterday, but now I need a new battery…..still stuck.
Despite all of the misfortune this weekend I still had a BLAST at Formula D Round 3 at Palm Beach International Raceway! Thursday is usually the day for practicing and making final adjustments to your car. Even the course needed to be adjusted as there were a few crashes. They switched up the course for the safety of drivers and spectators in the stands.
Some of the shots you’ll see in the gallery: Luke Lonberger and Conrad Grunewald from Hankook making some last minute adjustments – Chris Forsberg shooting a wink to us while riding his bicycle – Aliens in the Pro-Am Paddock area – Alex Pfeiffer banging out the door of his Megan Racing/NEXEN 350Z after crashing
