SEMA 2012 Re-Kindled Enthusiasm Photography by Frank Leon & Michael Alvarado Specialty Equipment Market Association, or SEMA as the rest of the world knows it. Once again we attended SEMA and much to our surprise there was a resurgence of enthusiasm in the air. The past couple years at SEMA had been good, but it did not have that “WOW” factor, maybe it had something to do with a harsh economy or whatever. This year there were so many manufacture builds that they overflowed into the outside parking and show areas, and not just slapped together garage builds, we saw a lot of quality built vehicles. There was also a continued growth...

FRS | Sports Heritage from Scion

The Scion FRS Sports Heritage Photography by Nelson Queralta The Scion FRS has a great sports heritage going all the way back to 1965. They took no shortcut to continue that heritage with the release of the rear wheel drive Scion FRS. We were able to get our hands on one recently equipped with ISS Forged wheels and wasted no time getting it into the studio. I really do like the lines of the car and the weight and balance truly make this a really fun car to drive. With a plethora of aftermarket companies already offering parts for the FRS, we are really excited to see what other tuners will build for this year’s SEMA...

12 Hours of Sebring Endurance in our backyard Photogrpahy by Emil Garcia Peugeot, Peugeot. That’s was the shadow that was cast over the Audi Sport team at this year’s American Le Mans season opener. Peugeot has taken the opening win for the previous 2 years and with Peugeots departure from the American Le Mans series this year, Audi was sure to be winner right? Temperatures holding steady in the mid 80s, Friday’s qualifying sessions sorted the pack. With Audi Sport Team Joest taking 1, 2, and 3 in qualifying it was a safe bet to say that an Audi would cross the finish line on the podium. The LMP1 class battled hard throughout the...
From Puerto Rico with Love

From Puerto Rico with Love Brotherly Love Photography by Andy Ramirez On thanksgiving, we gave you sneak peek at the Corsa Brother’s ’95 Tercel. One thing we love seeing on State of Stance is builds that bring people together. This is one of those. Two brothers, Eric and Omar, aka the Corsa Brothers, put some serious brotherly love into this car and it is nothing short of an eye catcher. A true daily driver, this little Toyo has heart. Attackworks widened the rear fenders to hug the rear fitment just right and some custom suspension trickery ensures that this is the lowest static Tercel on the island. Due to its daily driver...

Formula D Palm Beach Video

When Formula D came to Florida we wanted to go all out seeing as it was on our home turf. We enlisted the help of as much media personnel as John P. would let me. I called my friend Mikey Bajer, a film student, to come shoot a great video for us. Although he has never shot an automotive event before and the last drift event he attended was 7 years ago (Falken Drift Showoff at Homestead) after seeing some of his work I felt as if he was up to the challenge and would produce an amazing video. David Atash and Brian Clementi were also more than ready to run back and forth between the pro cars right before they take off to get some astounding...

Here are some shots from Day 1 (Friday) of Formula Drift Round 2 in Atlanta. Friday was the day for Pro Am Practice, Qualifying and Competition with some Pro practice and Qualifying mixed in. It was great to see all of the Florida drivers out there kicking butt…hell, 10 out of the 16 drivers that qualified in Pro Am and 2 of the 3 winners of the competition were Florida drivers. Really goes to show that Florida is making a name for itself and I can’t wait to see what happens next round on our own turf. See you at Palm Beach International Raceway guys! This entire royal wedding buzz has me going crazy. Royalty this, royalty that, but what is royalty if you are not rolling around in true VIP fashion? This stunning build by Nax Whitmore is the answer. This is VIP! This is royalty! This is how I’d roll if the world was looking at me. We arrived at the shoot and set up, then Nax told me he was going to air down the car. I was like what? I though he was already aired out… Then he procedded to say, “but just a little cause my lip touches the floor if I go all the way down…” SIK! No stone has been unturned on this most gorgeous peice of art. From 20×10...
