For starters, all drivers got two runs to make qualifying. The first run was your qualifying run. However, if a driver did not make the Top 16, they were given a second run to make the Top 32. When Formula D came to Florida we wanted to go all out seeing as it was on our home turf. We enlisted the help of as much media personnel as John P. would let me. I called my friend Mikey Bajer, a film student, to come shoot a great video for us. Although he has never shot an automotive event before and the last drift event he attended was 7 years ago (Falken Drift Showoff at Homestead) after seeing some of his work I felt as if he was up to the challenge and would produce an amazing video. Here are some shots from Day 1 (Friday) of Formula Drift Round 2 in Atlanta. Friday was the day for Pro Am Practice, Qualifying and Competition with some Pro practice and Qualifying mixed in. It was great to see all of the Florida drivers out there kicking butt…hell, 10 out of the 16 drivers that qualified in Pro Am and 2 of the 3 winners of the competition were Florida drivers.
