Formula Drift Atlanta | Day 1 Round 2 – Road to the Championship Photography by Emil Garcia As most racing events go, each track in a series offers new challenges and new opportunities. After an exciting Round 1 at Long Beach, Formula Drift continued their series into Atlanta. Road Atlanta has been on the FD schedule close to a decade and proves to be one of my top three tracks for FD. Day 1 starts with practice, shake downs, and some tuning. The guys fought it out to see who takes the Top 32 into competition day and the qualifying round becomes a battlefield. Some of our hometown drivers did not make the cut this round, surprising...

Drift Sessions Hoons on the Lose Photography by Emil Garcia State of Stance was on site this past Sunday for some shenanigans with the boys over at Drift Sessions & Drift Academy. Countyline Raceway has been home to the guys from Drift Sessions and tons of local drifters, including myself, since 2007 and its been nonstop fun ever since. Every few weeks or so, Tim Murphy a.k.a. Mr. Drift Sessions, gathers a roster of “Hoonigans” for tire shredding, smoke churning, adrenaline fueled fun. The weather was a tad moist at the beginning of the day, but as the day progressed and the track dried the fun increased. Around mid- day...

The Irwindale Flag at Half Mast Irwindale Cancels All 2012 Events Irwindale Speedway has been the home to many events for the past 12 years. One of the most recognized of those events being NASCAR, and of course our favorite being Formula Drift. Even our very own Editor-in-chief, Leo Diaz, has memories there; seeing history take place as the very first US D1 event was held there. Throughout the years the track has seen its series of rough patches, however this most recent rough patch has led the track owners to release a press release stating the current cancelation of all major motoring events for the 2012 calendar year. This may come as...

The atmosphere was that of street corners and circle crowds where freestyle battles would subject your ears to a verbal onslaught of clever punch lines and euphemisms. The artists crowded the sidewalk early in the evening for a bit of banter and wordplay, warming up for the competition ahead of them. It was a call to arms for the...

NSCRA Round 3, Rain’d Out but not a Wash Out
posted by Frank Leon
As most of you know the NSCRA is a South Florida based Sport Compact Drag Racing Sanction hosting all their events in Palm Beach; founded by two ex-racers committed to bringing life back into what once was the heart of our import automotive community. The downfall sometimes to always being in FL is that our summers are known for rainstorms to appear on clear sunny days; drenching everything in its path. This Saturday at Palm Beach International Raceway was no different; what started out to be a great Saturday at the track, soon tuned into people taking cover in the nearest tent and hoping it didn’t blow away...
