Red Bull Drift Shifters, the brainchild of New Zealands own Mad Mike Whiddett.
With the help of Red Bull, Nitto Tire, Dirty Man face wash, Achilles Tire and a host of other sponsors. Modeled in the image of a pinball machine, the course featured a speed tunnel, proximity sensors, a semi truck, and multiple other obstacles. With a top score of a million, it was a sight to see
Speed and angle are measured at multiple points throughout the course, giving the driving multiple opporunities to better their score. More angle and speed equal more points.

Because Beards Are Awesome

BeardLife (in case you don’t know) is a blog dedicated to beards, cars, drifting, and culture. As bearded brethren, I have personally been a fan of the blog and movement for several years now. The proprietor, known to friends as BG, is an automotive junkie like the rest of us; spending more time at the track than anywhere else.
Over the years we talked at events and meets and I have always been interested in his drifting projects. Most recently his LS powered FC. While he modestly states that the car is not yet ready or up to his standards, for me it is perfect the...

Enjuku Racing out of central Florida has been around for close to 15years. They began specializing in Nissan 240 and SR20DET performance and soon became the go to guys for anything performance related.
They have grown quite the name within the drifting community and have expanded their tuning outside of the Nissan realm. In fact as you can see here, they have built a very impressive LS powered Hyundai Genesis coupe boasting a tire smoking 500hp.
They are continuing to expand and are looking forward to dedicated R&D for newer vehicles, such as the Scion FR-S which they...

Formula D Musical Chairs?
In an interesting turn of events we find FormulaD Driver Joon Maeng without a seat for Seattle. Bergenholtz Racing issued an official statement yesterday afternoon stating they would be parting ways with Joon Maeng.
“Effective immediately, Bergenholtz Racing and Joon Maeng have both decided to part ways. “Though we both gave our blood sweat and tears to achieve podiums, we still couldn’t get the formula right. In our quest to win, we realize that change must occur and sometimes that involves tough decisions. It is with great heart-felt regret that this has to happen but I believe it...

Hoons on the Lose

State of Stance was on site this past Sunday for some shenanigans with the boys over at Drift Sessions & Drift Academy. Countyline Raceway has been home to the guys from Drift Sessions and tons of local drifters, including myself, since 2007 and its been nonstop fun ever since.
Every few weeks or so, Tim Murphy a.k.a. Mr. Drift Sessions, gathers a roster of “Hoonigans” for tire shredding, smoke churning, adrenaline fueled fun. The weather was a tad moist at the beginning of the day, but as the day progressed and the track dried the fun increased.
Around mid- day...

Sometimes my job can be very difficult. Many weekends away from the comfort of my home, stuck in airport terminals, driving crappy rental cars, and eating stale “continental breakfasts”.
Those however are sacrifices that must be made, in return I get to hang in the paddock of many racetracks, see some of the coolest cars, photograph umbrella girls, and occasionally have phone conversations with Playboy models. I know it’s a rough life, but someone has to do it…
Along this journey I happen to come across Denise Bortnak, known in the industry as DenniiB. Dennii is quite the...
Every time I get an email from Luke I get butterflies, because most of the time he’s shooting me a teaser to a project he’s working on or a link to a completed video. And if you’ve laid eyes on his past work, then you know everything he puts out is pure gold.
This recent project is no...
When Formula D came to Florida we wanted to go all out seeing as it was on our home turf. We enlisted the help of as much media personnel as John P. would let me. I called my friend Mikey Bajer, a film student, to come shoot a great video for us. Although he has never shot an automotive event before and the last drift event he attended was 7 years ago (Falken Drift Showoff at Homestead) after seeing some of his work I felt as if he was up to the challenge and would produce an amazing video. David Atash and Brian Clementi were also more than ready to run back and forth between the pro cars right before they take off to get some astounding...
While we work on some recent event coverage, we thought we’d share a little more Formula D Round 2 coverage to get you hyped up for Round 3 here in Florida.
Everyone needs to come out to this event! I am being completely honest when I say Formula D hosts the best drift events I’ve...
Here are some shots from Day 1 (Friday) of Formula Drift Round 2 in Atlanta. Friday was the day for Pro Am Practice, Qualifying and Competition with some Pro practice and Qualifying mixed in. It was great to see all of the Florida drivers out there kicking butt…hell, 10 out of the 16 drivers that qualified in Pro Am and 2 of the 3 winners of the competition were Florida drivers. Really goes to show that Florida is making a name for itself and I can’t wait to see what happens next round on our own turf. See you at Palm Beach International Raceway guys!

I would have never imagined my first trip to California would be this insane! It started off on the right foot with Formula D Round 1 – Streets of Long Beach. But when the smoke cleared and all the cars were stowed away in their trailers I decided to spend a couple days in Los Angeles...

Maybe she’s not drifting per say, but it is a beautiful Playboy model shredding tires in Mike Essa’s $170k BMW drift car completely nude…..I’m not complaining.
NSFW-ish: While they don’t really show full nudity in the video, it’s still a nude Playboy model....

…and so it seems that Ken Block still reigns king in the world of Gymkhana.
After the popularity of his original Gymkhana video, released by DC while he was still driving for Subaru, he has followed up with Part 2 [in which he introduced the new Ford rally car he is now driving] and now...
