Formula D Musical Chairs?
In an interesting turn of events we find FormulaD Driver Joon Maeng without a seat for Seattle. Bergenholtz Racing issued an official statement yesterday afternoon stating they would be parting ways with Joon Maeng.
“Effective immediately, Bergenholtz Racing and Joon Maeng have both decided to part ways. “Though we both gave our blood sweat and tears to achieve podiums, we still couldn’t get the formula right. In our quest to win, we realize that change must occur and sometimes that involves tough decisions. It is with great heart-felt regret that this has to happen but I believe it...

Just in case you haven’t noticed, over the last 11 years drifting has grown far beyond what most expected. From its grassroots days in the back-streets of Japan, to professional racing sanctions at some of the world’s most renowned tracks. It has literally taken the world by storm.
Keiichi Tsuchiya wanted to bring this adrenaline filled artistry to the masses; and with the help of his creation D1GP along with other professional sanctions such as Formula Drift, that was realized.
It wasn’t soon after that amateur and grassroots...
When Formula D came to Florida we wanted to go all out seeing as it was on our home turf. We enlisted the help of as much media personnel as John P. would let me. I called my friend Mikey Bajer, a film student, to come shoot a great video for us. Although he has never shot an automotive event before and the last drift event he attended was 7 years ago (Falken Drift Showoff at Homestead) after seeing some of his work I felt as if he was up to the challenge and would produce an amazing video. David Atash and Brian Clementi were also more than ready to run back and forth between the pro cars right before they take off to get some astounding...
Here are some shots from Day 1 (Friday) of Formula Drift Round 2 in Atlanta. Friday was the day for Pro Am Practice, Qualifying and Competition with some Pro practice and Qualifying mixed in. It was great to see all of the Florida drivers out there kicking butt…hell, 10 out of the 16 drivers that qualified in Pro Am and 2 of the 3 winners of the competition were Florida drivers. Really goes to show that Florida is making a name for itself and I can’t wait to see what happens next round on our own turf. See you at Palm Beach International Raceway guys!

State of Stance Presents: Tandemonium
Hosted by Drift Sessions
We took a few Hero HDs that GoPro provided us at SEMA to Drift Session’s Tandemonium on December 5th to really test them out. This was our first attempt at using the GoPros to film an actual automotive event and it...
Tim and the guys asked me to join them at a Tandem Drift event they had put together.
While at the event, I had the honor of riding shotgun with J.Lowe. Well known in the Florida drift culture, he has been terrorizing tires and tracks for many years now. Here is a clip of some HD footage taken...

Although I had a media pass and had access to any location that I could wander into, the great thing about this event is that you didn’t need a special pass to get into the pit area. The layout was awesome,...

I had the great pleasure of flying out to Las Vegas this past weekend to cover the Formula D event they were holding at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I met a lot of great people, bumped into some familiars from Florida (randomly), and had a...
