Once again here is your pre-weekend fix. I try my best to scour the web and source pics of cars that will put a smile on your face every Friday so that you can start your weekend off right. I think this little Bone colored Mini does that in a big way. When I came across the pics the first...

Kindred Impulse | The Evolution
posted by Edward
Do you remember a couple of weeks ago when we featured the Blaze Orange EM1 with the K20 (Counting Pennies)? It’s part of a much larger crew (Kindred Impulse), which had cars breaking necks at Import Alliance this year. Today we bring you one of their heavy hitters. Justin Goad’s 2003 Lancer Evolution VIII. As a member of the U.S. Navy, Justin was found out he was embarking on a 7-month deployment. Think of it… … a whole 7 months to rack up parts while your away. A whole 7 months of extra money to spend on your car! When Justin returned to the U.S. he had roughly $5k in parts to install. He began with the...

NSCRA Round 3 | Wet & Wild
posted by Oliver
I had the opportunity to cover this event along with Frank and the whole time all I could think about is how uncomfortable wet socks are. Even with soaked socks and wet shoes, the NSCRA staff and the girls from the Jessica Barton Model Lounge put forth a great effort to make the best of a wet situation. Next time, I’m bringing an extra pair of socks and some swim trunks. I would suggest you all do the...

NSCRA Round 3, Rain’d Out but not a Wash Out
posted by FAL_Frank
As most of you know the NSCRA is a South Florida based Sport Compact Drag Racing Sanction hosting all their events in Palm Beach; founded by two ex-racers committed to bringing life back into what once was the heart of our import automotive community. The downfall sometimes to always being in FL is that our summers are known for rainstorms to appear on clear sunny days; drenching everything in its path. This Saturday at Palm Beach International Raceway was no different; what started out to be a great Saturday at the track, soon tuned into people taking cover in the nearest tent and hoping it didn’t blow away...

Chasing Ch-hab

Owner: Youssef Ch-hab Car: 2003 VW Golf GTI Words & Photos: Austin Carmody If you are part of the car scene in Tampa, Fl. then you already know this car. I myself have seen this car plenty of times at local events but had never met the owner. Luckly for me, I met Youssef Ch-hab at the perfect time. Just before our shoot, Youssef bagged his ’03 golf GTI and installed the R32 front bumper. He mentioned to me that this is just the begining of the car’s complete make over. OEM R32 side skirts have been ordered and Youssef is now debating between the OEM R32 rear bumper and a 20th AE rear valance. Being a self proclaimed...

Counting Pennies
posted by Edward
As we strive to set State of Stance apart from the rest, we sometimes have to venture outside our hometown to award those who deserve the SOS approval. My recent trip to a small town known as Mandarin, located in the suburbs of Jacksonville, Florida proves that dedication and passion for tuning can be found just about anywhere. On day one I linked up with Miguel Paz, member of Team Kindred Impulse, and owner of the ’99 Honda Civic Si (EM1) we will be looking at today. Working against the pressures of time, we rushed to find suitable locations so I had little time to admire the exterior. At first glance, the EM1 doesn’t appear...

At Formula D Round 2 – Atlanta I bumped into an old friend, Paul, who I haven’t seen in quite a long time. While stationed in Korea he picked up photography as a hobby and started attending local drift events. When I saw him at Road Atlanta he told me he would soon be stationed in Germany and would be able to cover many exciting events over there for State of Stance if we were interested……uumm, YEAH! The first thing he sends me? Nürburgring 24 Hour Race! I’m jealous. Without further ado, here is the set from our newest contributing photographer Paul Otlewski (aka Piner)

It was a dark, depressing day with the looks of nothing but rain in it’s future. But Carlos Alvarez and the rest of the Ultra Evolution staff were determined to put on a great event and succeeded. With the help of some local vendors and club support, Carlos was able to put on a great event, not just for cars but for clubs also. With a few games and some awesome cars, Carlos definitely showed that there’s more to events then just cars. Take a moment to look at some pics snapped by our own Adam Frandsen and be sure to check out Ultra Evolution for upcoming events. Thank you Carlos for a unique and fun show on what seemed to be a...
