If you’re into building cars and into driving cars, then you know how important the proper seat it. It is the only thing that truly connects the driver to the car. While building my car I was given the opportunity to install a seat from STÄTUS, courtesy of Flat6 Motorworks. The seat, a STÄTUS Ring GT in black leather with a carbon fiber shell, was fitted with a 6-point harness with a cam lock system; also from STÄTUS.          The thing about this seat is the details. We’ve had the amazing opportunity to be a Media Sponsor for Formula Drift’s 2011 season. When Formula D came to Florida we wanted to go all out seeing as it was on our home turf. We enlisted the help of as much media personnel as John P. would let me. I called my friend Mikey Bajer, a film student, to come shoot a great video for us. Although he has never shot an automotive event before and the last drift event he attended was 7 years ago (Falken Drift Showoff at Homestead) after seeing some of his work I felt as if he was up to the challenge and would produce an amazing video. Formula Drift makes it to Wall Speedway in NJ for their 8th time. It was hot, muggy and after swallowing mouth loads of rubber and inhaling gallons of tire smoke; I can honestly say it was a great time! This is one of the smaller courses on the FD schedule, but due to its high banks and figure 8 infield, it created some of the best FD action I’ve seen this season. G37 that is, but since he does, we’ll just call it the G. Normally a Mercedes guy, this Infiniti was a step away from the norm for Chris Enrique, but that hasn’t shown through at all. This is part 2 of our multi part coverage of the Formula Drift event in Palm Beach, FL. Day 2 was final qualifying and it was just as hot out as the day before. The course layout had been changed slightly since a few drivers made friends with the wall a few times on the original layout. Nick Weber and his father are the sole principle of Nick’s Customs. A shop based out of Jersey that builds good ‘ole bare hands, torched, cut and welded rolling art. We have all been looking forward to this event for some time now and it feels like it came and went so quickly. First time Formula D comes to Florida? This is a huge deal to us! While writing this up I can’t help to think about the first time I met Huey. It was at the Simply Clean 2 event. I met Mike earlier this year while at an event for AEG. Dan contacted me and asked if I had room in the booth for a sik IS he has just fitted with very aggressive LM20s. When it comes to CCWs and fitment, Dan is never wrong. So of course I said yes.
